A Golden Eagle Golf Club wedding on a warm July day feels a little bit magical. The mountains sit quietly in the distance, the fairways stretch endlessly in every direction, and the air carries that calm summer energy that makes everything feel effortless. Elyas and Bahar’s wedding captured that feeling perfectly; elegant yet relaxed, calm but full of excitement, and filled with the kind of joy that builds slowly and then bursts onto the dance floor.

Elyas & Bahar

A Quiet Love Story

Elyas and Bahar are both naturally calm and quiet people from my experience with them anyways. The kind of couple who don’t need to be the loudest in the room to make their connection obvious. Watching them together throughout the day was incredibly sweet because their affection showed up in small ways; little smiles, playful glances, and the way they would occasionally make silly faces at each other when they thought no one else was watching.

Bahar once told me that she chose to work with me because “you capture intimacy beautifully and it feels like you capture the essence of that moment.” Hearing that meant so much to me, because those small, genuine interactions are exactly what I love documenting.

Since neither of them had much experience in front of the camera, we spent some time together during their engagement session practicing movement and getting comfortable. By the time their wedding day arrived, they had both completely relaxed into the experience and even started playing around for the sake of the art, which made photographing them so much fun.

A Beautiful Summer Ceremony at Golden Eagle Golf Club

Their Golden Eagle Golf Club wedding ceremony took place on a beautiful July afternoon in Pitt Meadows. The weather could not have been more perfect: sunny skies, warm air, and that peaceful calm that settles over the golf course in the middle of summer. The setting felt incredibly natural and elegant, with the ceremony space surrounded by lush greenery and views of the mountains beyond. It’s one of the reasons I love photographing weddings here; there’s so much beauty built right into the landscape. Bahar looked stunning in a delicate lace wedding dress that moved beautifully in the breeze, while Elyas wore a sharp forest green suit that complemented the surroundings perfectly. Their wedding party followed the same earthy palette, wearing a mix of greens, browns, and warm neutral tones that blended seamlessly with the landscape. One bridesmaid even wore a dress that looked so authentically camouflage-inspired that we joked she could disappear into the forest if she wanted to. Luckily she stayed visible for the ceremony. The overall aesthetic felt natural, refined, and effortlessly stylish

A Helicopter Adventure Above the Mountains

One of the most unforgettable moments of this wedding happened shortly after the ceremony. Golden Eagle Golf Club has a partnership with Sky Helicopters that gives couples the option to fly into the nearby mountains for their wedding portraits. When Elyas and Bahar decided to include this experience in their day, I was beyond excited. Not many couples get the chance to take a helicopter into the mountains in the middle of their wedding day, and it created such an incredible adventure for them. As we lifted off and the golf course grew smaller below us, the views of the surrounding mountains opened up in every direction. The quiet, peaceful atmosphere up there felt almost surreal. Moments like that are why I love what I do, capturing experiences that feel once-in-a-lifetime. I made it a priority to document that part of their day as thoroughly as possible so they would have images that truly reflected how incredible it felt to be there.

A True West Coast Wedding Crasher

Just after the ceremony ended and guests began making their way toward cocktail hour, we had one of those very “Pitt Meadows” moments that you only get at venues surrounded by nature. A curious black bear casually wandered near the ceremony site, doing what the local bears often do, making the rounds of the golf course and checking the nearby garbage bins for snacks. It’s something the staff at Golden Eagle Golf Club are very familiar with, and they handled it calmly and quickly to make sure everyone stayed at a safe distance. The whole moment was surprisingly peaceful and even a little surreal, a reminder of just how close this venue sits to the wild beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests. It became one of those unexpected stories that couples and guests laugh about long after the wedding day is over.

A Dance Floor That Never Slowed Down

After returning from the mountains, the celebration continued back at Golden Eagle Golf Club with a reception that quickly turned into a full-blown dance party. What stood out to me most was how quickly the energy built. One by one, guests made their way onto the dance floor until it was completely full and it stayed that way for the rest of the night. Watching Elyas and Bahar surrounded by friends and family, laughing, dancing, and soaking in every moment, was the perfect ending to such a beautiful day. Their wedding perfectly balanced elegance with excitement; exactly the kind of celebration that makes a Golden Eagle Golf Club wedding so memorable.

Insider Tips for a Golden Eagle Golf Club Wedding

1. Consider the Helicopter Photo Experience

Golden Eagle Golf Club partners with Sky Helicopters, allowing couples to fly into the mountains for wedding portraits. If adventure is part of your vision, this experience creates truly unforgettable photos.

2. Plan Your Timeline Around Golden Hour

The golf course gets the most beautiful soft light in the evening. Leaving a short window for sunset portraits can create some of the most romantic images of your day.

3. Embrace Earthy Color Palettes

The natural greens, mountain views, and forest surroundings photograph beautifully with earthy tones like olive, tan, rust, and brown.

4. Encourage Guests to Use the Outdoor Spaces

Golden Eagle offers stunning outdoor areas for cocktail hour and mingling. Giving guests time to enjoy the scenery makes the day feel more relaxed and immersive. But watch out for the local bears, they will walk right through the course looking for snacks.
